HR Film Festival “Reels for Rights”

By Ayesha Mir The film explores the story of the country’s waste problem and how minorities are left with the task of cleaning. It highlights the stigma around jobs such as garbage collection and how people who work these jobs are unrecognized and unappreciated for their line of work. Ayesha Mir is an aspiring journalist and filmmaker. She remains dedicated to telling stories unique to South Asian culture and politics and has had her work published with media channels such as Dawn and DW and showcased at Asia Peace Film Festival. She studied Political Science from Bryn Mawr College in the US and Modern South Asian Studies from Oxford.
